Thank you for checking out Skinfidence Beauty. My name is Melissa Lafferty and I am the proud Founder and Owner of Skinfidence Beauty. 

As long as I could remember, skincare and cosmetics have always intrigued me, even at a young age. I struggled a lot with acne and oily skin as a teenager, which also carried over to my mid 20's. I was always so self-conscious of my skin, especially without a full face of makeup on. You wouldn't dare catch me walking out of my house without some sort of makeup on, to hide my acne and scarring. I would always pack on the foundation and concealer, and as much as I LOVE makeup, I realized that it all starts with your skin.

Your skin is the canvas for your makeup, and if your skin is uneven, bumpy, oily, dry, or just not at its optimal potential, no amount of high-end makeup will ever lay right, on top of the skin.

Now in my late 30's, I realized that just because a skincare product may cost $150, does not mean it will perform to those standards. There are various other products out on the market that will work the same, if not better than a high-end product. You should not have to sacrifice the only skin you have just because your budget doesn't allow it.

For over 15 years, I have continuously researched skincare ingredients and followed many skincare experts on YouTube. I always stayed in the know with the newest skincare products and tried just about everything from drugstore to high end. Fast forward to age 35, and I made my dreams a reality by attending the most prestigious Aesthetics program in CT, on July 2024. By March, 2025, I have successfully completed and graduated from the Institute of Aesthetic Arts and Sciences of Southbury CT. I am now a proud CT State licensed esthetician and fully insured. 

I’m so excited to bring everyone high quality, yet affordable skincare, as well as now offering my Aesthetic services in person.
